As 2019 comes to an end, we reflect on some of the events that have shaped our year. From meeting you at industry conferences, engaging with our team on social media, and participating in our Leadership Forum, we thank you for your support this year.

In October, we held our Leadership Forum here in Portland, Maine. It was an opportunity for both our customers and team to network and learn from our guest speakers who provided some thought-provoking sessions. InsurTech, digital transformation, and the impact on customer experience were some of the main topics of conversation. 

We are so grateful to our expert speakers who flew in to join us for this exciting event. Shefi Ben-Hutta, co-founder of Coverager, explained the importance of looking outside of the insurance industry to influence strategic direction. Jamie Bisker, Global Insurance Lead at Salesforce, spoke about the opportunities provided by the Salesforce Platform to create a more seamless end-to-end insurance platform. Scott Grandmont, COO Greenhouse Life & VP RGAx, gave a great presentation on his approach to creating value, protecting your market advantage, and driving customer satisfaction in this dynamic landscape. Last but certainly not least, Jeff Nowak, Shareholder at Littler Mendelson P.C, discussed the trends of the PFL landscape. 

Our team shared updates on our newly reimagined user interface and provided a glimpse into the proprietary research we conducted to reveal the FMLA and PFL Knowledge Gap among front-line absence managers and employees.

As a result of the success of our Leadership Forum, we are pleased to announce that we are planning our Leadership Forum 2020 Tour. The Leadership Forum Tour will kick-off in Sydney in early 2020, with more locations and details to be announced shortly.

Our Newly Reimagined Solution

Our dedicated R&D team has been working hard this year to make significant enhancements to our suite of products. With three major releases annually, we continually gather user feedback and monitor industry trends to improve our products. Below, the team has shared three highlights for this year, with many exciting enhancements coming in 2020.

Paid Family Leave

Family Medical Leave (FML) and Paid Family Leave (PFL) administration is classed as a difficult job for HR and Benefits managers across the US. To improve the process, we have built these regulations into the rules engines on our Absence and IDAM solutions. We continually update the regulations, ensuring our customers are in compliance with automated eligibility.

With Washington PFL going into effect on January 1, 2020, our customers are now ready to process these leaves of absence. Our R&D team has also scheduled a time to ensure the requirements for Massachusetts PFML, which goes into effect on January 1, 2021, will be included in the June ‘20 release of our software. This will provide our customers with a 6-month lead time to test administration before the regulations go into effect.

Improved User Experience

Marcy, Updike, our in-house UI/UX researcher, has been busy conducting interviews with our customers and partners, to better understand how they manage claims end-to-end. This feedback has been analyzed and incorporated into our product roadmap, incorporating a better user experience on our employee portal and a more claimant-centric approach to risk management.

Salesforce Lightning UI

Built on the Salesforce Platform, all our products are now Lightning Ready, which means they can be used in the new Salesforce UI.

Our team has also been developing Lightning Components to improve the user experience of the claims process. Using an iterative process to incorporate customer and user feedback, these components will be available for review throughout 2020.

10 customers went live in production using our software solutions.
